Another smart simple phone: Samsung Knack

Another smart simple phone: Samsung Knack

It seems that the market for simple phones is thriving, despite all the hype generated by Apple's new iPhone, the new Blackberry Curve and a host of other new generation smart phones. Demand continues for just a basic mobile phone, and handset makers and service providers are responding.

Joining such stalwarts as the Jitterbug and the recently launched Pantech Breeze is the new Samsung Knack offered in the U.S. by Verizon Wireless.

The flip-phone style Knack offers dedicated 911 and ICE (In Case of Emergency) contact keys, large contoured buttons, large text on a large display screen, TTY, broad hearing aid compatibility, and full voice control.

The Knack is available online now, and will be available in stores beginning October 14.
