Accessible Apps: MasterCard ATM Hunter
Up to GPS, Navigation
The MasterCard ATM Hunter is an iPhone/iPod Touch application designed to help the user locate the closest ATM anywhere in the world. By using the application’s filter command, people living with mobility disabilities can know if an ATM they are searching for is accessible.
There have been many times I have had to forgo using a certain ATM because I could not see the screen from my wheelchair or reach the access keys from my seated position. Having the knowledge beforehand that an ATM is not handicap accessible is quite a time-saver.
The concept is straight forward. Once you type in your address or an area airport, the GPS on the iPhone will bring up ATMs in your area. You can also narrow the focus on you search by using the aforementioned filter to find the ATMs capable of deposit sharing, surcharge fees, and of course handicap accessibility. This is a free application off of iTunes.

I found some inaccuracies when testing for an ATM I knew to be very "handicap friendly". This application located the aforementioned ATM and gave the exact distance from my current location without a problem and correctly mentioned that this particular terminal was not set up to take deposits however it was lacking in mentioning anything about it being handicap accessible.
This ATM terminal had a lower key pad and screen, braille, and was set-up for TTY/TDD service. If anything, there should be a 5-star rating by the description of this ATM on this application. Unfortunately, there is no way for a user to update the filter describing this as an accessible ATM for the disabled.
Further tests I conducted on local ATMs proved to help in locating handicap accessible automatic teller machines.
Overall, I believe this to be a successful and needed iTunes application for people living with disabilities.
