Is anyone with a visual impairment using this phone? My last phone broke and I"ve activated one of these that used to belong to my daughter. I"m having a touch time with the size of the text. I was able to enlarge the numbers that appear while dialing but that's the least of my problems. I'd like to enlarge the text for sending and receiving text messages.-
I looked up the LG EnV on the internet and found the user manual in PDF format (link is immediately below):

Apparently, the LG EnV has a text-to-speech mode that will read text messages aloud. The Pound/Space key at the bottom right side of the device activates this mode.
Here are the instructions for reading incoming text messsages:
Using Text To Speech (TTS)
Text To Speech feature will read your text messages (SMS/EMS), notes and wireless sync emails out loud when you press the Pound/Space key. The phone will prompt you when this feature is available by displaying the icon on the screen. TTS is supported in English mode only.
1. For text messages, press Left Soft Key for Message, select Inbox and press OK.
2. Select a message and press OK.
3. Once you see the Message icon on the screen, press the Space button to have the message read out loud.
I also spoke with the public education coordinator at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta. She used to have the LG 8300 series (a predecessor model to the EnV, which is a 9900 series model. She said that there was a setting buried in settings menu that will read each letter aloud as you type new messages. Perhaps the Pound/Space key activates this function on the 9900 series, so that you can hear as you type.
My contact at the Center for the Visually Impaired said that her LG 8300 did not let you enlarge the text. This doesn't resolve your question about enlarging the text on your EnV. But hopefully, the text-to-speech function will serve as a better workaround.

Hey Nancy,
Just curious, did the Space key on your LG EnV phone activate the text-to-speech function for reading your text messages?
As important, does it work when you are typing a text message? Does it call out the letters as you key them in?
