Do we rely on our wireless devices too much?

Posted by jim at April 01. 2008

Data from our Survey of User Needs so far indicates that people with disabilities, like most everyone else, rely on wireless products more than ever. This reliance has its advantages, but does it also pose problems? Features like speed dialing and stored phone numbers means we no longer have to remember phone numbers for important contacts. Do we sometimes depend too much on our mobile devices?

I’ve been trying to think of ways to eliminate my landline or cell phone and cover all of the bases. So far no luck. I use a TDD, so I need a landline. Another solution might be voice over internet. I like to speak, and lots of information is conveyed by my voice and the words I use.
