Guides to choosing wireless devices
The Wireless RERC (the host of this website) has begun to consider updates to its cell phone buyer's guide, titled "Your Guide to Choosing a Cellphone."
In the process of gathering information, we found several useful resources that consumers with varying abilities might use to guide their next purchase decision. Here goes:
- Mobile Manufacturers Forum, GARI Template for Mobile Handsets/Devices - This is a downloadable Microsoft Excel inventory of the various features of mobile handsets.
- Criteres de selection des telephones mobiles - This downloadable file in Adoble Acrobat format provides a handy list of features to consider for people with specific disabilites. It is not presented as a checklist like the Mobile Manufacturers' template. But, one could still check items off the list presented. The document was produced in France by the Association Francaise des Operateurs Mobiles (AFOM) and is in French.
