How new? New iPhone coming in June

While it means nothing definitive, mounting evidence suggests that Apple is set to introduce a new iPhone on June 9 of 2008. This month!

Check out the story in the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/28/technology/28apple.html?_r=1&ref=technology&oref=slogin

Apple fans have assigned great significance to the fact that supplies of the current iPhone have dwindled considerably recently, possibly to clear out inventory of the existing model. Also, it is thought that with sales flagging for the current iPhone, Apple must be planning to launch a new model at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9.

But, what will the new iPhone have? How new will it be? Evidence to answer these questions is very slim. Nobody knows if it will be revolutionary or merely ho-hum evolutionary. Still, the launch of an updated iPhone makes one wonder what cool or needed features will be added to this modern icon.

One necessary feature for some people with disabilities is tactile feedback for the iPhone's slick (perhaps overly slick) touch-screen interface. A number of software companies are developing tactile feedback technology that could help users with limited vision or hand function to feel their way with more confidence on the iPhone's touch-screen.

What else would you like to see on the new iPhone?
