La proveedora de comunicaciones inalámbricas más grande en América Latina, América Móvil SAB, anuncio el miércoles (7 mayo 2008) que vendrá el iPhone de Apple a sus clientes en más de una docena de países en la región empezando en la segunda mitad de este año.

América Móvil, la cual está controlada por el multi-millonario mexicano Carlos Slim, no ofreció detalles, sino que se vendrá el aparato de comunicaciones multimedia inalámbrica por todas sus operaciones en la región.

El iPhone de Apple ha sido un gran éxito comercial y crítica por su diseño elegante y su operación por pantalla táctil. Pero ha recibido una recepción mixta de personas con discapacidades.

A las personas sordas o de oído duro (pero con buena visión) les gusta mucho la lustra pantalla táctil, y la operación sin teclas físicas. Esta misma característica les frustra a las personas con limitaciones de visión o de dexteridad, porque requieren más información táctil para operar tales aparatos.

The largest provider of mobile communications in Latin America, América Móvil SAB, announced on Wednesday (May 7, 2008) that it will sell Apple's iPhone to its customers in more than a dozen countries in the region beginning in the second half of this year.

América Móvil, which is controlled by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, did not offer details, except that it will sell the mobil multimedia device through all of its operations in the region.

Apple's iPhone has been a great commercial and critical success because of its elegant design and touch screen operation. But it has received a mixed reception from people with disabilities. People who are deaf or have hearing limitations (but good vision) like the lustrous look and touch screen operation. This same characteristic frustrates people with vision or dexterity limitations because they rely on more tactile feedback when operating such devices.
